DesignWorkshop Lite, Classic, and Professional are developed and published by Artifice, Inc., a leading international provider of creative tools and media for designers. Since our founding in 1992, our mission has been to creatively apply ancient principles of good tool design to the modern world of digital media.

Much as a timeless quality is found in the great works of architecture, there is a timeless quality found in great tools. Our hope is to serve you with this quality -- to transcend mere technology -- to help you unlock the power of your imagination.

We believe that good tools are clear, simple, and powerful. We create software with more functionality, not just with more features. The power of this approach becomes obvious from using our software, which lets you focus on your creation, instead of on your computer.

We also believe that good tools deserve to be backed up by great support, so Artifice provides unlimited free technical support to all our registered users, and our technical support staff is friendly, patient, and experienced.

We also work to assemble appropriate software accessories to complete a wide variety of task-oriented solutions enabled by DesignWorkshop technology. For instance, we include useful third-party software like slide show and image conversion programs, and even our basic software packages come complete and ready-to-go with CAD translators, 3D libraries, scaled material textures, online documentation and tutorials, and examples of both general and specialized applications.

We hope anyone can afford to use DesignWorkshop, from grade school students using the freeware DesignWorkshop Lite, to international architects and production designers using DesignWorkshop for professionals, and we have established price structures accordingly. We provide maintenance upgrades free of charge, our major upgrade prices are always reasonable, and academic discounts, lab-pack prices, and corporate site licenses are also available.

Artifice products are distributed without hardware copy-protection devices, with concurrent-use licensing, so they are easy to install and maintain. We believe in a relationship of trust with our customers. Artifice is a corporate member of the Software Publishers Association and the Open DWG Alliance.

In the U.S. and Canada, Artifice products are sold direct and by mail order. In Japan, Artifice products are imported exclusively by 3D Innovations, Tokyo, and sold by Lemon Gasui, Canon, AppleCenters and other outlets. Our resellers in the United Kingdom include Gomark, Ltd. of London.
