| Biography |
Clorindo Testa (b. Naples, Italy 1923) Clorindo Testa was born in Naples in 1923. In 1948 he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the National University of Buenos Aires where he studied the Beaux Arts tradition. He worked for the Buenos Aires Regulating Plan for one year, but left to study painting in Italy. Three years later, he returned to Argentina and established a private practice. Ostensibly partnerless, Testa generally prefers to work collaboratively on his designs. His work often echoes the bold forms and spatial manipulations of his paintings. His designs often incorporate a heavily textured concrete finish which predates and predicts the first Brutalist architecture.
