| Biography |
Stafford, Morin, and Longwood John E. Stafford, AIA, started the firm in Eugene, Oregon in 1945, the year he became licensed, and was joined by the then-newly-licensed Ken Morin as partner in 1957. Stafford graduated from the University of Oregon in 1940, worked as a draftsman in Eugene and in Portland, Oregon, and later taught at the University of Oregon from about 1960 to 1962. James Longwood was included in the firm name as an associated architect before he became partner in 1961. Stafford withdrew from the partnership late in 1962, with some continuing responsibility for projects already underway at the time of separation. All three were graduates of the School of Architecture at the University of Oregon. Working as a team, during 1960 to 1961 they won a two-stage design competition for Eugene City Hall. Details
