"Towering above the prairie, Nebraska's State Capitol is one of the region's most architecturally significant buildings. Designed by Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue of New York, the capitol was built between 1922 and 1932 of luxurious, carefully crafted materials. The building has strong graphic and narrative qualities, integrating symbols and shapes to illustrate a story of life in Nebraska that begins with the Indians and proceeds through the historical period of settlement and consolidation." — Elaine Freed.
