"The river divides the college site in two; the east bank comprises mainly the older buildings, and there are five courts: Old, Cloister, Pump, Walnut Tree, and Friars' with the President's and Fellows' Gardens in the north-west along the river. The north half of this site originally contained the monastery of the Carmelite Friars, and was acquired at the time of the Dissolution. The west bank site has the Fisher Building as its southern boundary, with the new Cripps Court and The Grove to the north. The two sites are connected by the Mathematical Bridge."
