“It is in many way a very normal building, accepting the repetitiveness of the brief and preserving rhetoric for the entrance and communal facilities and the faceted block by which the scheme is identified from a distance. The organisation of rooms is a model of clarity. Groups of eight to eleven rooms, each with their own shower and WC, are assigned a shared kitchen and lounge. While the scheme is a variant on the three-sided courtyard format, each group of rooms is accessible without impingeing on other groups, thus preserving a civilised degree of privacy within the students' life.”
