"The office building for a Turku newspaper was the first by Aalto to attract attention from abroad.

"The structural frame is of reinforced concrete and the outer insulating wall is of light-weight concrete. The surface of this porous material was covered with wire netting and covered with a special stucco containing a colour-tinted varnish. Various types of skylights are installed in the flat roof. This was the first time Aalto had experimented with large, round skylights on a conical concrete base. In connection with flat slab construction, the reinforced concrete frame can exhibit either a symmetrical or asymmetrical column arrangement."
